National Gallery Singapore is having their Children’s Biennale. Follow Kiri the Monkey to save the dying forest from Aki the Fire Dragon! Inspired by the Cambodian version of the epic poem Ramayana, Calling for Rain by Khvay Samnang will bring you on a journey through the landscapes of Cambodia. The story follows Kiri falling in love with KongKea the Fish, and later faces struggles to overcome the loss of his home.
The film aims to move children to care and protect our environment as it faces issues such as deforestation, pollution and climate change. Get an immersive viewing experience as you watch in a space that resembles a Cambodian performance room, featuring actual masks and headdresses from the film!
There are 8 other installations to enjoy in this festival so come on down to discover ‘Why Art Matters’ today. Admission to the Gallery Children’s Biennale is free! See you there!
