UOB presents ‘Decode’, a solo exhibition on the art of ‘Mi Fu’ (米芾) by Ho Seok Kee, Silver Award winner of the 2018 UOB Painting of the Year (Singapore), Established Artist Category.
‘Decode’ is the fruit of Seok Kee’s continued research on the art practice of (mi) or rice textured dots. She reinterprets Chinese ink paintings and injects fresh perspectives through modern-day innovation such as using computer programmes to distort, melt and stretch original images to create surreal ones. In this body of work, most of the paintings were inspired by technology buzzwords such as Artificial Intelligence, including data analysis, machine learning, computer algorithms or 5G network.
