1-30 September 2026: Gardens by the Bay: Satay by the Bay Farewell Dining Promotion Before Closure on 1 October 2026

Gardens-by-the-Bay-Satay-by-the-Bay-Farewell-Dining-Promotion 1-30 September 2026: Gardens by the Bay: Satay by the Bay Farewell Dining Promotion Before Closure on 1 October 2026

If there is one thing many Singaporeans and visitors enjoy about Gardens by the Bay, it is being able to combine a relaxing walk among the gardens with a good meal. For years, Satay by the Bay has been one of the more casual places to stop by when hunger strikes, especially for those looking for familiar local flavours without having to leave the attraction.

However, the current Satay by the Bay dining experience is coming to an end.

Gardens by the Bay has announced that Satay by the Bay will close from 1 October 2026, with the waterfront area set to undergo a transformation as part of the upcoming Wetlands by the Bay development.

That means September 2026 is the final month for diners to enjoy the existing Satay by the Bay before the doors close and the area moves into its next phase.

For anyone who has not visited in a while, this could be a good reason to make a trip down. It is not necessarily about chasing a huge discount or special menu. Instead, this is one of those occasions where the attraction is the opportunity to revisit a familiar Singapore dining spot before it disappears in its current form.

One Last Visit To Satay By The Bay

Satay by the Bay is located along the Waterfront Promenade at Gardens by the Bay, giving diners the chance to enjoy local food in a relaxed open-air environment.

As its name suggests, satay has been one of the familiar choices here, but there has always been more to the dining area than skewers of grilled meat. Visitors can also find favourites such as barbecue chicken wings, chilli crab and other local dishes, making it a convenient place when different people in a group are craving different things.

The waterfront setting also makes the experience a little different from eating at an ordinary food court.

After spending time exploring Gardens by the Bay, visitors can take a break, grab something to eat and enjoy the surrounding scenery. It is particularly convenient for families, groups of friends and tourists who want to experience some familiar Singapore flavours while continuing their day around the Gardens.

But that experience will soon change.

With the closure taking effect on 1 October 2026, the last day of operation for the current Satay by the Bay is 30 September 2026.

So, if this is somewhere that has been part of past visits, September is the month to consider making another trip.

When Is Satay By The Bay Closing?

The important date to remember is 1 October 2026.

Satay by the Bay will cease operations from that date, meaning diners have until 30 September 2026 to enjoy the existing dining area.

There is no need to wait until the final day either. Visiting earlier in September may be a more comfortable option, especially for those who want to avoid the possibility of larger crowds as the closure date approaches.

Existing operating hours will continue during the final month.

On weekdays, the drinks stall operates from 9am to 10.30pm, while the food stalls operate from 11.30am to 10pm. On weekends, operating hours are from 9am to 10.30pm.

Of course, it is still sensible to check the latest information before heading down, particularly if planning a visit specifically around the final days.

Why Should You Go Before It Closes?

The biggest reason is simple: this version of Satay by the Bay will not be around after September.

People often say they will return to a favourite place another day, only to realise that the opportunity has passed. With a confirmed closure date, there is now a clear deadline for anyone who has been thinking about visiting again.

It could be a good opportunity to bring the family down for dinner, meet friends after work or simply take a stroll around Gardens by the Bay and stop for a meal along the waterfront.

It may also appeal to those who enjoy taking photographs or remembering familiar places around Singapore. The current dining space is about to undergo a significant change, so a September visit could become a small way of documenting what the area looked like before its transformation.

For regular visitors to Gardens by the Bay, this is also a chance to say goodbye to a familiar part of the attraction.

It Is More Than Just A Closure

The good news is that this is not simply a case of the dining area shutting down with nothing planned afterwards.

Gardens by the Bay has explained that the existing Satay by the Bay space will make way for a refreshed waterfront dining experience as part of the upcoming Wetlands by the Bay development.

At this point, details about the future dining concept have not yet been announced. That includes exactly what food options will be available, how the new space will look and when the new dining experience will open.

For now, visitors will have to wait for further announcements.

That uncertainty also makes the current September window more interesting. Once the existing space closes, the familiar Satay by the Bay experience will become part of the Gardens by the Bay story rather than somewhere visitors can simply drop by for dinner.

Plenty Of Other Food Choices At Gardens By The Bay

Even after Satay by the Bay closes, visitors will still have dining options around Gardens by the Bay.

Depending on the occasion and what everyone is looking for, choices include casual eateries, cafés and restaurants around the attraction. Existing establishments include Jurassic Nest Food Hall, Shake Shack, McDonald’s and Starbucks, among others.

So, there is no need to avoid Gardens by the Bay after 1 October simply because Satay by the Bay will no longer be operating.

However, those alternatives do not change the fact that the current waterfront dining experience is entering its final month.

Plan A September Visit While There Is Still Time

There does not have to be a complicated plan for this final visit.

Visitors could spend the afternoon exploring Gardens by the Bay, take photographs around the attractions, enjoy the gardens and then head towards Satay by the Bay for a meal. Alternatively, an evening visit could work well for those who prefer a later dinner followed by a stroll around the waterfront.

Families may find it convenient for a casual meal after exploring the Gardens, while couples and friends can treat it as a relaxed evening outing.

The main thing is not to leave it until October and then realise that the opportunity to visit the current Satay by the Bay has already passed.

A Familiar Singapore Food Stop Is Entering Its Next Chapter

Satay by the Bay may not be the biggest dining destination in Singapore, but its location and casual atmosphere have made it a familiar stop for many people visiting Gardens by the Bay.

Now, its current chapter is coming to an end.

With the space preparing for the future Wetlands by the Bay development, September 2026 is effectively the farewell month for the existing Satay by the Bay experience.

For anyone who enjoys local food, waterfront dining or simply revisiting familiar Singapore places, it is worth considering a final visit before 30 September 2026. There may not be a massive sale attached to the closure, but the chance to enjoy a meal at a familiar spot before it changes can be a worthwhile reason to make the trip.

And who knows? The next time visitors return to this part of Gardens by the Bay, they may be looking at a completely different dining experience.

For now, there is still time to enjoy the one that has been there.
