On the local news, the newest opposition party Red Dot United (RDU)\u00a0 announced its interest to contest in Jurong GRC if there is no other party going to contest in this area. But it didn’t take long for other parties to join in this area which is the People’s Voice (PV).<\/p>\n

However, PV secretary-general Lim Tean’s bankruptcy woes aren’t over yet, it has been revealed that he is currently having bankruptcy claims from 2 organization, over the debt up to $1.45 million. The 2 companies that have filed bankruptcy applications on Mr. Lim are DBS bank which filed in Oct 2019 over a debt of $549,378 while another one is Trading Company Sing Wing (I & E) filed in May 2019 over a debt of about $905,000.

\nMr. Lim, who himself is a lawyer as well as a politician, he represented himself in the High Court hearing. So far, Mr. Lim denied on the alleged debts as he mentioned on his comment that it is total rubbish that I own $1,450,000. This is due to the fact that the Singapore Constitution disqualifies undischarged bankrupts from representing citizens in Parliament \u2014 meaning someone who is made a bankrupt is not eligible to contest in the elections.<\/p>\n
