\"\"SINGAPORE – There are 932 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore, taking the total count to 17,101, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Friday (May 1).\"\"<\/p>\n

It is the eighth day in a row where the new daily infections fell below 1,000, though Friday’s number is higher than in recent days.<\/p>\n

According to preliminary statistics from the Ministry of Health, as of noon today, most of the new cases were holders of work permits living in dormitories. Five Singaporeans and permanent residents are among the new patients. Migrant workers living in dormitories continue to form the bulk of the remaining cases.<\/p>\n

The breakdown is as follows:<\/p>\n

a) Imported cases: 0
\nb) Cases in the community: 11 (5 Singaporeans\/Permanent Residents, 6 Work Passes)
\nc) Work Permit holders (residing outside dormitories): 16
\nd) Work Permit holders (residing in dormitories): 905<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Of the new cases, 70% are linked to known clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.<\/p>\n

24 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 1,268 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.<\/p>\n

There are currently 1,764 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 23 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
