\"\"(Singapore 27th) Singapore today (April 27th) added 799 cases of Covid-19, with a total of 14,423 cases.<\/p>\n

According to preliminary statistics from the Ministry of Health, as of noon today, most of the new cases were held by work permit holders living in guest dormitory, and 14 were local citizens or permanent residents.\"\"<\/p>\n

On Sunday, the ministry reported 931 new cases, reversing the downward trend from last Friday, when 897 new cases were reported. Of Sunday’s figure, the vast majority – 886 – were work permit holders in foreign worker dormitories.<\/p>\n

About 3.5 per cent, or 11,419, of the 323,000 migrant workers living in dormitories have tested positive, putting the spotlight on their living conditions in these dormitories..\"\"<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Health (MOH) said on Monday night that the two patients were an 82-year-old Singaporean man who tested positive on April 8, and an 81-year-old Singaporean man who tested positive on April 20.<\/p>\n

MOH said the National Centre for Infectious Diseases has contacted the men\u2019s families and is extending assistance to them.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, there were 799 new coronavirus cases on Monday, of whom 764 are foreign workers living in dormitories.<\/p>\n

The increase is due to extensive testing of such workers, most of whom have a mild illness or are being monitored in the community isolation facilities or general wards in hospitals.<\/p>\n

None of them is in the intensive care unit, said MOH.<\/p>\n
