Of the new cases, 81 per cent are linked to previously identified clusters while the rest are pending contact tracing, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) in the media release.<\/p>\n
A total of 654 new cases are from foreign worker dormitories, while 26 new cases are work permit holders residing outside dormitories.![\"\"](\"https:\/\/sg.everydayonsales.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/AAA.jpg\")

As for local cases in the community, 48 cases were reported on Thursday, and there were no new imported cases.<\/p>\n
MOH added that 31 more patients have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 683 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, a ninth foreign worker dormitory, Mandai Lodge 1, was declared an isolation area after a new cluster of cases was identified there.<\/p>\n
According to MOH’s notice in the Government Gazette, the dormitory at 460 Mandai Road was declared an isolation area to prevent “the spread or possible outbreak” of COVID-19.<\/p>\n

The 34-year-old man did not go home immediately when he landed in Singapore from Myanmar and when he did go home, he did not remain there.<\/p>\n
Instead, he appeared in public several times over a four-hour period in behaviour labelled \u201cblatantly irresponsible\u201d by the prosecutors.<\/p>\n

Like in the past two weeks, foreign workers living in dormitories continue to drive this increase, accounting for 654 of new patients.<\/p>\n
Of the remaining new cases, 48 are other local community cases while 26 are work permit holders living outside dormitories.<\/p>\n
There were five new clusters announced, with some linked to dormitories, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said in its daily update on Thursday (April 16).<\/p>\n
They include two large purpose-built dormitories, Westlite Mandai, which is linked to 31 cases, and Leo dormitory, which has 21. This means that 19 of the 43 purpose-built dormitories here, together with several factories converted into dormitories, have reported active clusters in recent weeks.<\/p>\n
S11 Dormitory @ Punggol, Singapore\u2019s largest cluster, added 181 cases as of Thursday noon, and now has 979 cases \u2013 about a fifth of the country\u2019s total.<\/p>\n
Another dormitory, Mandai Lodge I, had another 154 new cases. Some 161 workers who live there have now tested positive for the coronavirus.![\"\"](\"https:\/\/sg.everydayonsales.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/CCCC.jpg\")

It said 19 per cent of the new cases are currently unlinked and contact tracing for these cases is being done.<\/p>\n
No imported cases were reported for the seventh successive day.<\/p>\n
