Even the Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey is doing his part where he said on Tuesday (April 7) he was committing US$1 billion (S$1.4 billion) of his personal fortune to coronavirus relief through his philanthropic fund.<\/p>\n<p>This contribution will be around 28 per cent of his overall wealth. This is really generous from the boss.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5990\" src=\"https:\/\/sg.everydayonsales.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/twitter-bos.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"624\" height=\"351\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sg.everydayonsales.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/twitter-bos.jpeg 624w, https:\/\/sg.everydayonsales.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/twitter-bos-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/sg.everydayonsales.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/twitter-bos-585x329.jpeg 585w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 624px) 100vw, 624px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As you all might know, it&#8217;s a nightmare now in US where there is a shortage of ventilators and personal protective equipment, and business and individuals are also struggling economically.<\/p>\n<p>When ask why such a move he said &#8220;Why now? The needs are increasingly urgent, and I want to see the impact in my lifetime. I hope this inspires others to do something similar. Life is too short, so let&#8217;s do everything we can today to help people now.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In case you didn&#8217;t know, not just Dorsey but other enterprises has also contributed<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has committed $30m, the bulk of which is focused on efforts to create a treatment.<\/li>\n<li>Amazon&#8217;s Jeff Bezos has donated $100m to food banks in the US to help those struggling with hunger during this period.<\/li>\n<li>Apple&#8217;s chief executive Tim Cook announced in March the company would donate medical supplies to Italy which has been hit hard by the virus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Really grateful for all people that has contributed and it mean a lot.
