The Island of Hokkaido, Japan is a popular tourist destination for Singapore to escape and for the 34-year-old Singaporean Marilyn Ichihashi, the city of Furano in Hokkaido is her new home now where she lives there with her husband Kanji Ichihashi, 43 years old, and their adorable Singapore ragdoll cat called Mountain. Furano is a town where is filled with Lavender flower fields and they both fall in love with this place during their trip to Furano back in 2017.<\/p>\n

She moved to the countryside with this amazingly peaceful and view of Mount Tokachidake where the temperatures range from 10\u00b0C to 20\u00b0C and during November to late March, it can drop to a 10\u00b0C to 20\u00b0C. Despite the winter here, Marilyn finds herself getting in love with the place where and of course she said that in order to stay in winter where she has to use the old log and chop them into firewoods to warm up the house. Plus there are no shopping malls or nearest supermarket from their home but instead, you can travel<\/a> by car or bicycle here which is very enjoying.<\/p>\n

In February 2020, they have opened B*B Plus + Shooting Star where it was a bold move for both of them as they both didn’t have any prior experience in the hospitality industry and the B&B has four en-suites which is known for its various homely themes and facilities including yoga studios too. However, barely just two months after their opening. The Japanese government and authority of Hokkaido declared a state of emergency due to the Covid-19 pandemic and they have to temporarily close their accommodation which basically left them with no income.<\/p>\n

They can only rely on selling takeaway curry rice bento and offering online yoga classes for the local community.<\/p>\n
