The Deputy Education Minister Dato’ Dr. Mah Hang Soon said the new directive will take effect starting Wednesday, 21 April that any school confirmed Covid-19 infections even if it is just a single case will be closed for two days. The deputy minister clarified that this is due to the current spiking numbers of Covid-19 cases.<\/p>\n

As of 21 April, the Melaka Health Department has closed a school in Alor Gajah after 37 students were tested positive while a cluster in Sabah begun after 72 students from a boarding school in Kota Kinabalu becomes infected.<\/p>\n
