This was due to feedback from residents who complained about being awakened by loud noises from vehicles that were possibly illegally modified for speed. Gan also asked if the five roads can be considered as speeding red zones and asked authorities if they could carry out an operation to tackle speeding and offences of the modified engine that cause excessive noise at these locations.<\/p>\n<p>The penalty for speeding is a fine of up to S$1,000, imprisoned up to three months, or both.
