The HL-2M Tokamak reactor in Chengdu, Sichuan province is designed to use a powerful magnetic field to fuse hot plasma at temperatures of 150 million celsius which is 10 times hotter than the sun’s core. This reactor is referred to as artificial sun due to its enormous heat and power it produces, as Chinese scientists have been working on a smaller version of the technology since 2006 for a future large-scale power generation.<\/p>\n

This new reactor will also provide technical support to the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) which is the world’s largest reactor which is being constructed in Marseille, France.
