Grab Driver 27, Jailed For Driving 3 Different Female Passenger Unfollowing Route and Acting Weird<\/p>\n
A Grab driver, Nigel Lim Guan Yu was sentenced on Monday (Aug 24) to three months and two weeks’ jail and a fine of $8,000 after he was being charged on 4 charges of using criminal force, and threatening behavior, as well as possessing a controlled drug.<\/p>\n

Lim, 27 was working as Grab driver on Feb 3 this year when he picked up his first victim a 22-year-old social worker at Bedok North and somehow Lim drive her into a multi-story car park at Block 149A and until a point, he collided into a pillar and the victim somehow ran away while he goes down to check for damage on his car.<\/p>\n
On 2nd victim, which he picked up a 20-year old beauty consultant in Pasir Ris, she wanted to go to Paya Lebar Square but notice Lim behaving in a weird order by driving in circles in the car park and as Lim told her that he needs to collect an item and asked her to move to front passenger seat and she complied then Lim drove his vehicle aimlessly before stopping at another car park. As the woman as him to cancel the trip and wanted to go down, Lim grabs her arm but she manages to escape. She later told the investigator that she cries and feels scared and she didn’t even dare to take a Grab for 2 weeks after that incident.<\/p>\n

After the 2nd victim, Lim continues on to pick up a third victim, a 17-year-old girl, and somehow told her that he was a student at Nanyang Technological University and asked if the girl is free as he wanted to take her out and bring her back to his home. The teenager then raise her voice and told Lim to take her to her destination but Lim suddenly stopped his car at dead end and daze in his seat. After this, he drove to Ang Mo Kio Street 63 and stopped his car near the bus depot. Not wanting to have any contact with him, the teen left S$17 on the seat and alighted.<\/p>\n
Lim was arrested the next day. A search of his home later uncovered a tablet containing nimetazepam, a Class C controlled drug also known as Erimin-5. Lim admitted buying five such tablets from a supplier known only as Ah Siao in Geylang. He said he took a tablet a week since end-December 2019 to sleep.<\/p>\n

Lim, who was not represented, asked for leniency and said he was sorry and felt very remorseful about what he did. He said his mother was a single mother and he had a foreign wife and is currently about to finish his course at the Institute of Technical Education.<\/p>\n
For each count of using threatening behavior, an offender could be S$5,000. For using criminal force, the penalty is a jail for up to three months, a fine of up to S$1,500, or both. For possessing a controlled drug, the penalty is a jail for up to 10 years, a fine up to S$20,000, or both.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
