Bukit Panjang residents are expressing their concern over the 3 bus services that will be cancelled due to the Land Transport Authority (LTA) mentioned that the 2 of the bus services its changing has been failing in ridership which cost up to $5 million a year to run.<\/p>\n

This is due to the less ridership in a few buses which falls more than 50% and LTA has to subsidise the cost of running them with public funds. LTA acknowledge the longer travel<\/a> times for some residents due to the changes is because of the current tough dilemma where The LTA needs to perform a balancing act, taking into account:<\/p>\n

  1. The needs of different commuters<\/li>\n
  2. The existence of alternative travel<\/a> options<\/li>\n
  3. The burden on taxpayers by way of the public funds it has to spend.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
