With the increase of dengue cases around Singapore, the National Environment Agency (NEA) is increasing the strict rules due to the total number of dengue cases hit 17,249 which are exceeding the case in the entire 2019.<\/p>\n

From July 15 onwards, a household which is found with multiple mosquito breeding habitats during the inspection will face more strict rules such as if a single mosquito breeding is detected, first-time offenders will be fined S$200, and S$300 if multiple mosquito breeding habitats are detected within the same inspection. Penalties will increase for subsequent offenses, capped at S$5,000 for third and subsequent offenses. These offenders may also face imprisonment for up to three months, or both a fine and imprisonment.<\/p>\n

This new rule is to apply due to the rapidly increasing case of dengue infection and currently, enforcement for Town Councils for mosquito breeding will also be tightened like areas such as drains, scupper, and gully traps too.<\/p>\n
